Things to do in Jamaica

Jamaica offers tourists a plethora of things to do and activities to enjoy. Here you can indulge in every kind of water sport imaginable from banana boating to jet skiing, water skiing, sailing, sea kayaking, Sunfish sailing, sport fishing, swimming, boogie boarding and even surfing. In fact some great surf sports can be found on Jamaica at Boston Beach and Long Bay, both located just a short distance form Port Antonio. On the southern coast of the island you can catch some good surf at Palisadoes Peninsula.

The snorkeling and diving is also superb in Jamaica particularly along the western and northern shores of the island. The water conditions here are perfect with amazing underwater visibility, warm water temperatures and an abundance of marine life. Here you can find shallow reefs and steep drop offs along with underwater caves, caverns and trenches to explore. Most of the best diving is done in and around Montego Bay and Negril, with a large number of dive operators all located in this region. PADI and NAUI courses are also on hand.

If you get tired of spending too much time in the water, then head ashore to enjoy a great round of golf at any one of Jamaica’s 12 championship golf courses. There are more golf courses here than anywhere else in the Caribbean. In Montego Bay, you can play at the Cinnamon Hill Golf Club, the Tryall Club, the White Witch Golf Course and the Half Moon Golf Club. In Kingston, you will find one of the oldest courses in the island, the Constant Spring Golf Club.
