Things to do in Grenada
What many people don’t know about Grenada is that this tiny Caribbean nation also offers some wonderful snorkeling and diving. The waters here are home to an extensive reef system, which plays host to a wide variety of vibrant coral, schools of tropical fish, sea turtles and other marine life forms. One of the most popular dives here has to be the sunken shipwreck of the Bianca C, which lies long the southwestern coast of the island. However, the currents here are quite strong and the water is very deep, making it a difficult dive unless you are an experienced diver. If you are interested in diving in Grenada there are several good dive operators on the main island.
For some excellent snorkeling head north of the capital St George’s to Moliniere Point. Morne Rouge Bay also offers good snorkeling opportunities at Petit Crab Point, where you can spot a variety of colorful corals and sea fans. If you are looking fro some great beaches to go swimming, head to Grand Anse, the most popular beach in the country. However, if you are looking for some place quieter to lie back and relax, you will find a number of lovely beaches at Lance Aux Epines as well as on the tiny offshore island of Levera.
Sailing is also quite popular in Grenada and is a great way to explore all three islands. The hiking here is also very good especially in the Grande Etang National Park, where you can find numerous trials to trek. The concord Falls trail is for serious hikers and leads you all the way to Concord Falls more than five hours away. Morne La Baye is one of the easiest trails, while if you are looking for a challenge the Mount Qua Qua trail takes you up a steep ridge, from where you can enjoy some wonderful views of Grenada’s forested interior.
